I was born into the air of Wolverhampton on 1st November 1977, in New Cross Hospital. I was born a hefty 12 pound and 7 ounces, measuring 23 inches tall. I think I actually held the record in Wolverhampton for a few years! Wolverhampton will always hold a special place in my heart and I always enjoy returning here. Anyway, below is a bit about my favourite parts of the area and some other stuff!

Wolverhampton is a city with over 1000 years of history! Perhaps the oldest building here is St. Peter's Church in the centre. Whatever direction you approach the city, you can see the church towering above everything else. The church itself is over 1000 yrs old and has been at the centre of the city since it's creation.
Wolverhampton was granted city status in the year 2000. I was confirmed at this church while I was at secondary school (St. Peter's Collegiate School), although I must say that i'm not really religious - it was one of those 'everybody is doing it' things.

My favourite beer! I'm not really a lager drinker, more of an 'ale' man. Having spent a year abroad, I've missed it a lot - you just can't get it out of the midlands as a rule!

You can visit the banks's website here: Wolverhampton & Dudley Breweries

The city. Over the years, even in my lifetime, Wolverhampton has changed a lot. Often hearing relatives say "I remember when all of this used to be fields", it makes me wonder what i'll be saying when i'm older. Will it be "I remember when all this was buildings"? I have no idea, but I can't wait to find out! I like Wolverhampton for a lot of reasons - it's diversity, it's heritage, what it stands for (it's motto is "out of darkness cometh light") and the way the people stick together.
Wherever you are in the world, should you bump into a fellow wulfrunian (somebody from wolverhampton), even if you don't know them, they will normally chat to you, buy you drinks or whatever. People from Wolverhampton (as in, if you were born here) have a strong sense of community which I admire and am proud of greatly.

Surprisingly, Wolverhampton contains a lot of green spaces. The distance between here and Birmingham is filled with urban areas, but the other 'three sides' of the city are surrounded by countryside. Parks and commons are contained within the city and the most popular is West Park (pictured).
I have to admit I don't spend a lot of time in the parks, but I do like to cycle around the city and it's surrounding villages and hamlets.
