My hangover had kicked in as I awoke and we had decided to take the kids to a butterfly farm. I've never been to a butterfly farm before and was excited at the prospect of getting some decent pictures of the little insects. Hmmmm...

The big one...

We actually had a guide to show us around the place, even though you could walk around it in about 30 seconds. This was the first butterfly (or it could have been a moth, I wasn't really listening) he showed us. All the other butterflies were flying about but this one was very still. I suspected that the thing was actually dead and was pinned here for display.

Moth?

Like I said, I wasn't listening. Anyway, I won't bore you with anymore pictures of insects. Well, maybe one more...

Suspicious Guide...

The guide said that during the morning, the butterflies will go up to the roof to catch the sun and warm up. This was fairly believable, but it seemed that all of the nice looking ones were in the roof. They were probably dead also.

Farmer Giles...

After an extensive look around, we headed off to our next destination - a farm.

Loadsamoney...

We paid to go in and the kids had a bag of feed each. You could see how much money this converted farm had made because they had just had a new building erected complete with shop, cafe and information area. Who said farmers were poor?

I'm scared...

Well, not me personally, but kids being kids, they were scared to feed the animals. Most of the feed was threw in their general direction or in their eyes.

I'm scared now...

The Llama got a bit too close to my camera for my liking. The picture is blurred because I lost my nerve just as I took it. What you didn't see was the animal trying to eat my lens.

Spring...

It seemed that love was in the air.

Kiss from a Rose...

We were told that we may be able to spot some seals on the coastline so we headed down to take a look. We spent about half an hour looking around and walking about a mile but there were no seals to be found. I was genuinly excited at the thought of spotting a seal in it's natural habitat but it was not to be. Bugger.

Most ot the family...

If you've just joined us and have no idea who these people are then from L to R is: Keziah, Emma, Emily, Katie and Grandad David. We had left Auntie Kathlyn in the shop as she wasn't up to the long walk. Carla was at home doing something else and Sarah, Dave and their son Thomas had already gone home by now. There you go.

Here horsey, horsey, horsey...

No matter how much you try and get an animal to pose, it won't. I tried everything - stage direction, grass, stroking, makeup - it just wouldn't stand still. Git.

Allo Cheeky!

We headed off back to the shop and Emma and I were in fits of laughter as we spotted Keziah with her hand on Emily's arse.

Kid feeding a kid...

Somehow this baby goat had escaped from the pen and was instantly terrorised by the kids. When I say kids, I don't mean the other baby goats.

Crypton Factor...

There was an assault course next to the shop and as you can see, I was clearly excited by it.

Bored...

Auntie Kathlyn had had to wait for about 1.5hrs for our return and then she was made to wait even longer while the kids wanted to play in the sandpit. She seemed to be enjoying the fact that she didn't have to be sat at home in sunny Wolverhampton though.

Sand obsessed...

I've never understood why people are obsessed with sand. Could it be built into our genes for soem specific reason? Even now, I'm 28 and still love digging holes in the beach (and trenches) but I have no idea why it gives me so much pleasure. The task serves no purpose - you know that it will either get washed away or some other kid will come and destroy what you've created.
