It's
been a few years since I've been to Wales for a holiday. It's also been
a few years since I have been on holiday with a family. This was also
the first time I'd been on holiday with Emma's family. What had I let
myself in for? Was I going to get drunk and embarrass myself? Would
I cope with the Welsh weather? Anyway, our first day started on the
beach. Well, it was a family holiday afterall... |

The Welsh Weather... A typical holiday in britain. Clouds, wind and coats all round. Don't get me wrong - I was glad to be away from Wolverhampton and by the coast. It had taken us about 3.5hrs to drive to Cardigan which is sort of mid/south Wales. This is a picture of Emily who is Rebecca's eldest daughter. If you're new here, then Rebecca is Emma's twin sister. If you're even newer here, then Emma is my other half. Ok? Then I shall continue. |

Bradley... This is one of many encounters I've had with Bradley. Bradley is Emma's parents dog. This randy little ball of fluff never ceases to amuse as he wanders off into the distance to try and mate or pester anything that moves. He's also the first dog I've met called Bradley. |

The kids... From left to right: Katie, Emily (Rebecca's two) and Keziah (Emma's one). To keep them quiet, they were all bought identical spades and buckets. We took them to the rocky area of the beach to look for shells, crabs and other random stuff. They seemed to be happy doing this for about an hour. |

Keziah... Being a sort of semi-professional photographer, Emma is always going on at me saying she doesn't have any decent pictures of Keziah. I discovered why quite quickly - she doesn't like her picture being taken. To be fair though, she does sometimes change her mind and I managed to get this one out of her! It was time to become a 'covert' photographer and take the pics while they weren't looking... |
||

Katie, however... Katie is only five and unlike Keziah, didn't bother about being photographed. She had collected many shells and wanted to show me her efforts. |
||

Emily... Yes - she'd collected many, many shells as well. |

Grandad 'David'... I took a 'covert' pic again - this time catching Emma's Dad, David. It wasn't sunny, but for some reason, he was wearing his shades. Maybe he was auditioning for a role in terminator 4. Maybe he wanted to look cool. Maybe he needs to wear glasses and they are the type that go black when it gets a bit brighter. I don't know. |

The photo that will get me dumped... Every
now and then you take a picture that somebody will not like. In this
case, Emma has already seen the pictures I have taken and said she'd
kill me if I ever put this picture on the site. Well, she's not here
at the moment so I'm putting it on anyway. I like it, so tough! |

That picture of Keziah... You know that picture of Keziah she wanted? Well Emma - here you go. |

The other picture... I think we have a winner! |

British Beach Holidays... Clouds, coats and windy conditions. No, I hadn't consumed a tin of Heinz Mean Beans - It was just the weather. |
||

The Boat... Carla
(Emma's mother) had decided to constuct a boat made of nothing other
than sand. The kids loved it, though I doubt it was very sea-worthy.
|
||

Tears... Katie isn't in this photo because there was a bit of a kerfuffle about who sat where so she decided she didn't want to be in the picture. Emily and Keziah were delighted at the thought of being in the boat on their own. |
||

Pirates... Bradley decides to attack the port-side of the ship and attempts a take over. Or was he just tryign to mate it? |
||
![]() |
No more tears... Katie returned to the boat after a bit of a hug from grandad david and sat down for a picture. |
||

Hide and Seek... The beach we were on is called Poppit Sands and was home to a multitude of sand dunes. Nothing compared to the Sahara Desert, but sufficient enough for kids to play in. We all hid and waited for our discovery... |
||

Found... It's not hard to get found when you're standing up. |
||
![]() |
Master of disguise... I found a bit of 'drift-rope' and disguised myself as part of a net or something. Needless to say, it was a crap disguise and my protruding body got discovered quite quickly! |
||

It's not cold, honest... We had been at the beach for about 5 or 6 hours and I was still enjoying it. It seemed that the grandparents were too - even though they were taking shelter from the cold in the dunes. |

The happy couple... We were happy, although it doesn't look that way! The day was drawing to a close, until... |
||

The arrival of Sir Thomas... Although he isn't technically a 'Sir', I have decided to refer to him as this because out of three children and four grandchildren, he is the only boy. David and Carla must have been relieved! Thomas can be seen pictured here sportign a traditional baby sand beard. |

The parents... Again, for new visitors to unplanned journey, pictured here from left to right is: Sarah (David and Carla's Eldest), Dave (Sarah's husband) and their son, Thomas. After a day on the beach, we all headed off to eat and get some rest for our next day... |
